Last year I visited her 1 room show at the Stedelijke Museum in Amsterdam, finally after years of looking at reproductions in books. The scale was unbelievable, I think I was as tall as 1 letter.

There are a few books that I own that for some reason or another I decide not to take off the seal. This particular book is so tightly sealed in its package, that it it became an object in itself.

Probably the earliest books designed by Irma Boom I found the set of 2 in a second hand bookstore in the humor section in the Hague. I think someone was hiding them to pick them up later. This is a formal apology to the person that set them aside. I have also tried in the past the hide a book trick and seriously it doesn’t work.

I have to admit I haven’t even tried any of the recipes I just like looking at the illustrations, the cover is beautiful! A great gift from Babette.
