WILD ANIMALS

WILD ANIMALS
ROP VAN MIERLO
At first I didn’t like this book, but the more I spent time with it the more I realised that in order to capture spontaneity in such a way you have to make hundreds of illustrations in order to seize the perfect moment. This is not a book about cuteness its about patience.
PRO STRESS

PRO STRESS
H.HOOGERBRUGGE
The quote on the back: ‘I tried yoga but I find stress less boring’. I love this quote it pretty much sums up what I enjoy. Hoogerbrugge, a Rotterdam artist, knows how to make us aware of our daily habits.
VINEX ATLAS

VINEX ATLAS
JELTE BOEIJENGA, JEROEN MENSINK
If you collect atlases then please add this to your collection, I am always curious when Joost Grootens, the designer of this book comes out with a new one, and so far I am never disappointed.
KATALOG KAMIENIA

KATALOG KAMIENIA
For a show room catalogue, this goes a long way. Every page looks like a painting. What is interesting though is how the book ends – a selection of images of ‘stone in use’ – unfortunately the whole section is black and white which makes it rather hard to distinguish which stone was used for what.
FUKT

FUKT MAGAZINE FOR DRAWING
EDITOR – BJORN HEGARDT
I found this publication in a small Rotterdam book fair. If you can get a hold of the whole series or subscribe to the coming issues I truly recommend it. The editors have a great eye for selecting work.
